Harvest Festivals

It's that time of year where excited allotment owners scour their plots for pumpkins, marrows and carrots.  As they rummage amongst the leaves squeals of delight can be heard and then grunts and groans as giant pumpkins are lifted into barrows and wheeled to St. Leonard's, Heath and Reach; St. Nicholas', Hockliffe; or St. Michael's in Eggington.

Below are pictures of some of the displays.

A lovely time was had in the Village Hall in Eggington.  The Parishioners of St. Michael's made Shepherd's Pies to feed at least 35 hungry mouths.  A band played some popular 'musical' music which created a lovely atmosphere.  Apple Pie and cream was served to finish the evening.  A brief video can be found below.

Noel visits the local care homes on a regular basis and by appointment.  Here he is reading a Harvest Poem.
