Autumn Lunch

AutOn 5th November we held our Autumn Lunch in the church hall for people who live alone or are isolated in our community. As always the village has proven itself to be a caring and supportive place to live. Enormous thanks to our sponsors The Axe and Compass and the Allotment Committee who fund us. Local businesses also gave generously yet again providing prizes for our guests. We were given a £15 voucher from 'Little Emm's' hair salon, wine and chocolates from the Co-op, a £5 voucher from 'Finishing Touch', a £25 voucher from 'The Dukes' and a Sunday roast for two from 'The Star'. The Tuesday Singers entertained us and everyone appeared to have a great time. When we started this project we had 14 guests and today we welcomed closer to fifty people! A huge thanks to the chef, Brother Bede and our young helpers, Elisha Fowler, Callum Buchannan, AJ and Becky Roberts. The Pastoral Committee at St Leonard's Church are enormously grateful for all the help and support we received today. Well done Heath and Reach! Xx (Val Roberts)
